We are proud to offer excellent walking safaris in the areas just outside the game reserve of the Masai Mara. The walks are carried out in small groups by Maasai guides trained and certified with the Bronze level badge according to Kenya Professional Safari Guide Association’s standards (KPSGA). There are three different walks that depart daily upon booking. Minimum 18 years of age or 15 years of age when accompanied by parents.

Morning Walking Safari – our most popular walk!
Have your morning coffee or tea in the dining, meet with your guides and proceed by car 10 minutes for the starting point of your walking safari. The walks always start with a briefing concerning safety and how the walk will be performed. Feel the cool air of the morning. Watch the sun rise.Take pleasure in trekking the wild savannah with the Maasai! Learn how to interpret tracks and subtle signs of the wildlife. Return to camp in time for a well deserved breakfast.

Half day Walking Safari
Have your morning coffee or tea in the dining, meet with the guides and proceed by car 10 minutes for the starting point of your walking safari. All walks always start with a briefing concerning safety and how the walk will be performed. Get ready for a walk crossing vast grass plains and small water streams, climbing hills and lava plateaus with panoramic views. Find a shaded spot, perhaps under a Balanite tree for your picknic breakfast. Allow yourself to relax, chat with the Maasai and just enjoy the moment. Return to camp in time for lunch.

Full day Walking Safari – a real challenge!
Enjoy a full day in the bush with your Maasai guides. This scenic walk will take you from the hills above Talek, following the vast grass plains of Angata Olgilai, hear the story about Moniko, have your breakfast/lunch on top of the lava plateau of Naronyo hill with its breathtaking view of the Masai Mara. Follow the Siketa ridge towards the Enjetit gorge. Trail the gorge, explore the wilderness and experience nature unspoiled. Cool down by the water pools. Carry on up to the Olkoruto plains. Water, picknic breakfast and lunch included. Return to camp in the afternoon.
