Where Dogs Lead the Way
Trapper's Station
Life at Trapper's Station
Trapper’s Station is the home of our 80 Alaskan huskies and the starting point for all our dog sledding adventures. Just outside Longyearbyen, this Arctic dog yard is where journeys into the wilderness begin. Here you meet the dogs, feel their excitement and learn how a real dog sled expedition works.
At Trapper’s Station we invite our guests to take part in the entire experience. You will learn how to harness your own team, understand how the dogs work together, and gradually step into the role of a musher yourself. Whether you join us for a day trip or a multi-day expedition into the wilderness, our strong and well-cared-for dogs become your most loyal companions on the trail.

Home to 80 Alaskan huskies, this remote Arctic base is where guests learn to harness their own team and travel the wilderness as true mushers. Mile by mile, across snow-covered valleys and frozen tundra, you move from participant to partner, guided by instinct, skill and the rhythm of the pack.
Located 10 kilometres outside Longyearbyen, surrounded by untouched Arctic wilderness, Trapper’s Station is the starting point for all our dog sled tours in Svalbard, whether a day trip or a multi-day expedition. Here, every journey begins in the dog yard and ends with the quiet satisfaction of returning from the wild
