In the polar night, people and music come together. On Thursday, 5th December, join us for an enchanting evening of beautiful singing and music with Mia Ekeblad Eggenfellner. Mia and her fellow musicians will bring the sounds of Christmas to life, offering a perfect escape from the everyday hustle. Enjoy the festive tunes along with a glass of chilled Northern Lights bubbles.
Mia, a resident of Longyearbyen and a secondary school student, is a key contributor to the vibrant cultural life here at 78 degrees north.

We gather in front of the big screen in our cozy Christmas hotel, enjoying popcorn and a classic Christmas film. This time, we will be showing the Norwegian version of “Tre Nøtter til Askepott”, featuring Astrid S in the lead role.

Northernlight-bubbles and CELLOTONES
In the polar night, people and music come together. On Saturday 14 December, we invite you to enjoy the beautiful sounds of Markus Eriksen and his cello. Markus, a Longyearbyen resident, works as a music teacher and leads two local choirs and a big band. As Longyearbyen’s only professional musician, Markus will mesmerize you with his talent while you sip a glass of sparkling aurora bubbles.

PRE-CHRISTMAS FUN WITH DOGS AND SANTA
Guess who’s coming to town? The pensioners from our dog yard in Bolterdalen! They are very much looking forward to meeting the “big city people” in Longyearbyen. We set up a mini-dog kennel outside the hotel and serve hot cocoa and buns. And maybe Santa will come?!

Trapper’s treat
The Trapper’s Hotel serves up the finest Trapper’s Christmas treats! Christmas in Svalbard always adds something extra special to the table, and this year is no different. In the festive run-up, our chef presents an array of cheeses, cured meats, and generous portions of seasonal delicacies. Pair it with our homemade mulled wine or perhaps a glass of Northern Lights bubbles for that perfect holiday touch.
