PRE-CHRISTMAS FUN WITH DOGS AND SANTA
Guess who’s coming to town? The pensioners from our dog yard in Bolterdalen! They are very much looking forward to meeting the “big city people” in Longyearbyen. We set up a mini-dog kennel outside the hotel and serve hot cocoa and buns. And maybe Santa will come?

Northernlight bubbles and Christmas music – sold out
On Thursday, November 27, Markus Eriksen and his cello will fill the Arctic evening with a beautiful mini concert.
This year, Markus is joined by Ida Maudal on piano.
For those of us who experienced Markus last year, this is truly a performance worth hearing.
And with a glass of chilled Northern Lights bubbles in hand, the music becomes a gentle pause from everyday life.

Northernlight-bubbles and christmas music
In the polar night, people and music come together. On Thursday, December 11th, join us for an enchanting evening with musician Simen Hystad Sjølie.
Simen invites you to a one-of-a-kind pre-Christmas concert, a musical journey that drifts from folk tunes from the Mjøsa region and slåtter from Setesdal, to a cinematic Christmas atmosphere.
Simen truly plays many strings: expect everything from mouth harp, mandolin and banjo to delicate acoustic guitar.
Based in Longyearbyen as both a culture school teacher and music educator, with training from the Norwegian Academy of Music and extensive experience across pop, rock and jazz, Simen brings a rare breadth and energy to the stage.
This might just turn into the most surprising and joyful Christmas concert of the season.

The Trapper’s Hotel serves up the finest Trapper’s Christmas treats! Christmas in Svalbard always adds something extra special to the table, and this year is no different. In the festive run-up, our chef presents an array of cheeses, cured meats, and generous portions of seasonal delicacies. Pair it with our homemade mulled wine or perhaps a glass of Northern Lights bubbles for that perfect holiday touch.

A warming cup of white or red mulled wine, served with delightful Christmas cakes.

Gather your family or friends and join us for a cozy Christmas breakfast! We serve a generous and delicious spread featuring both hot and cold dishes, followed by waffles or freshly baked cakes to finish your meal on a sweet note.
