Meet Andrea, the energetic reception manager at Basecamp Hotel. When she’s on duty, you can count on being greeted with a warm smile and lively conversation. Hailing from the vibrant city of Bergen, Andrea’s zest for life is infectious.
At just 22 years old, Andrea is a true adventurer. Originally from Bergen, she journeyed to Svalbard to immerse herself in its rugged beauty and embark on thrilling expeditions. Her year has been filled with ski trips, hikes, tent stays, cabin retreats, scooter excursions, and much more. Andrea’s adventurous spirit has led her to sleep under the Arctic sky in both Barentsburg and Pyramiden during her expeditions. She’s even skied from the Bay of Agard in the east to Isfjord Radio in the west in just ten days.
Upon arriving in Svalbard, Andrea immediately fell in love with its captivating landscape. She knew she belonged here, captivated by the breathtaking beauty and endless opportunities for adventure and new encounters. One of her favorite moments is feeling the warmth of the midnight sun on her face, or embarking on cabin trips where the sun remains high in the sky for months on end.
Andrea’s Svalbard journey has led her to meet Mars, a charming quadruped, during her time hosting at Isfjord Radio. Mars has now become her newest companion, and together they eagerly anticipate exploring the stunning wilderness of Svalbard in the years to come.
