A solitary outpost transformed into an extraordinary Arctic retreat
Isfjord Radio Station
Beyond The Known
Experience the solitude of Isfjord Radio, a remote Arctic outpost far from roads and routine. In winter, arrival is by dog sled or snowmobile, crossing glacier terrain and mountain passes. In summer, the journey unfolds by boat across open fjords and Arctic waters.
Built in 1933, the former radio station still carries its rugged character. Inside, however, you find a warm and carefully considered retreat, where comfort meets the raw surroundings. During your stay, guided excursions take you deeper into the surrounding wilderness, offering close encounters with the landscape and wildlife that define this part of Svalbard.
