A remote outpost
Experience the solitude of Isfjord Radio Adventure Hotel, a remote outpost far removed from civilization and inaccessible by road. In winter, arrive by dog sled or snowmobile, traversing glaciers and mountains. In summer, embark on a boat safari across the Arctic Ocean.
Built in 1933, the radio station’s exterior may appear rugged, but upon entering, you’ll be greeted by a comfortable hotel with a modern and inviting interior. During your stay, choose from a selection of guided adventures to explore the pristine wilderness.
As you awaken in this breathtaking setting, you’re prepared for an exhilarating day in the Arctic. Encounter wildlife as you explore; with approximately 3,500 polar bears on Svalbard, it’s not uncommon for them to visit us at Isfjord Radio. Rest assured, your safety is our top priority, and you’ll have our protection at all times.
After a day brimming with Arctic adventures, unwind in our architectural gem – the sauna. With its breathtaking view, especially when a group of whales passes by, it’s an experience like no other.
After a relaxing session in the sauna followed by a refreshing drink, prepare yourself for an exquisite and flavorful meal. We source local Svalbard produce from one of the remaining trappers on the island, allowing our chefs to craft fine dining experiences inspired by the Arctic region.
